In the spring of 2000, former Ottawa comic - now "working with DeNiro" big shot - Angelo Tsarouchas circulated a document through the comic community containing great travel tips. Here is the text of that document verbatim:

Angelo's Travel Tips for Comics

In our world of comedy today, it is hard to get good travel advice or a good travel agent, especially with the types of scheduals that we all keep. As a certified travel agent for 13 years, I have provided many trips and have planned many holidays for my friends and clients. I have put together a 'short list' of some of the best trave shortcuts and information available today. With technology as advanced as it is, it's amazing how quickly you can access information at your convenience. Here are some of my favorites:

www.exit.ca (877-4888) - A new information site for the latest in holiday and domestic charter airfares, featuring Canadian and North American gateways.

www.canada3000.com (888-can3000) Canada 3000 domestic and transborder flights, many specials, also includes Europe and now South Pacific, stand-by fares also.

www.royalairlines.com (877-royalair) Part of the Signature group, providing domestic charter and world airfares.

www.westjet.ca (877-wjcares) Domestic Canadian discount carrier, modeled after Southwest in the States. Good fares. No frills.

www.aircanada.ca (888-247-2262) Of course the leading airline in Canada. One advantage tip is to sign on to Websaver, through the net. They offer discounted fares on the Air Canada network every wednesday for the following weekend.

www.travelocity.ca This is one of my favorite sites as it serves as a total service travel agency over the web. Includes rail, air, hotel, car, travel information, quotes on demand, non-partisan in price quotes.

www.hotelguide.com Probably the best site for accurate and up to date hotel pricing and descriptions anywhere in the world.

For comics travelling to Britain, some good tips for accomodation at source is the London Times weekend classified www.londontimes.com or look up the Citizens Advice Bureau of London, very helpful with shared accomodations also.
